2 days workshop on Spinal Mobilization was organized by Physiotherapy Department, IAMR. The eminent speaker was Dr. Maneesh Arora , SBS,PGI Dheradun & Dr. Narkeesh Arumugam who is Senior Clinical Physiotherapist in Punjabi University. They discussed about the Spinal Manupulation techniques and its effects in conditions related for Pediatric, Neurological, Pregnancy, Respiratory & Orthopedic.

2 days workshop on SPINE MANUAL THERAPY was organized by Physiotherapy Department, IAMR. The eminent speaker was Dr. Dr. MANU GOYAL, Manual Physical Therapist & Diabetic Educator, MSc in Applied Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy (UK); PG certificate in Diabetes Education (IDF). He discussed about the advanced Spine Manual techniques and its effects in various conditions.

workshop on MPR- Myofunctional Postural Rehabilitation

 

Silverio Di Rocca has completed Graduate degree in Dentistry, Postgraduate degree in Functional Orthopaedics both from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina. He has also done a degree in Dentistry and Prostethic at the University of Turin, Italy and a Doctorate in Dentistry and Prosthetic at University of Turin, Italy He discussed about M.P.R. (Myofunctional Postural Rehabilitation) is an interdisciplinary holistic focus for the treatment of neuromuscular skeletal disfunction for patients of all ages. It is based on the sensory deprogramming and reprogramming of the tonic postural system’s receptors.

2 days workshop on Cranial Osteopathy was organized by Physiotherapy Department, IAMR. The eminent speaker was Dr. Maneesh Arora , HOD SBS,PGI Dheradun & Dr. Narkeesh Arumugam who is Senior Clinical Physiotherapist in Punjab University. They discussed about the Cranial Osteopath techniques and its effects in conditions related for Dental, Pediatric, Ear, Nose-Throat, Digestive, Neurological, Pregnancy, Respiratory, Orthopedic and Psychiatric.

Topic : Neurodevelopmental Technique.

 

He discussed about the advanced approach used in working with people who have central nervous system that create difficulties in controlling movement. He also discussed about how the individuals with neurological challenges (e.g. cerebral palsy, stroke, head injury), can become as independent as possible as it treats underlying neuromotor deficits as well as posture and movement disorders and improve the functional skill development.

Speakers : 2 days workshop on osteopathic mobilization of Peripheral Joints was organized by Physiotherapy Department, IAMR. The eminent speaker was Dr. Narkeesh Arumugam who is Senior Clinical Physiotherapist in Punjab University. He discussed about the advanced mobilization techniques and its effects in relieving pain for all extremities injuries and as these conditions represent dysfunctions that responds well to mobilization. He also discussed about its effectiveness in the treatment of musculoskeletal disorders including carpal tunnel syndrome, knee osteoarthritis and hip osteoarthritis

Topic : NEURAXIS 2013 - 2nd National Neuro-Physiotherapy Colloquium

 

The Theme -“CREATING SKILLS” strongly reinforces the significance of the physiotherapist role on rehabilitating the neurologically impaired. This Colloquium aims to bring physiotherapist working in the field of NEURO rehabilitation up-to-date with the knowledge and concepts in the field. We had renewed international as well as national speakers who shared their knowledge and deliberate during the scientific session of this conference.

Topic : Vestibular Rehabilitation

 

One day Guest Lecture on “Vestibular Rehabilitation” was organized by IAMR. The eminent speaker was Dr. Dhram Pani Pandey, Head of Physiotherapy Department B.L Kapoor. He discussed about uses of vestibular rehabilitation as a physiotherapeutic intervention in the management of patients with vertiligo, dizziness & imbalance.

Topic : PROPRIOCEPTION/ NEUROMUSCULAR CONTROL

 

2 days International Workshop on “ Proprioception / Neuromuscular control- Evidence Based/ Clinical Reasoning” was organized by Physiotherapy Department, IAMR. The eminent speaker was Helen Millson, M.Phil. Sports Phys, U.K. She is currently working as a consultant at IPRS (U.K). She discussed about Scientific Evidence of Proprioception, PNF and the Neuromuscular System. Students understood the clinical reason strategies for the implementation of Proprioception/ PNF and the neuromuscular system. This was an interactive workshop which allowed students to express their specific needs in their practice.

     

      

Topic : Taping Techniques

 

2 days workshop on “Taping techniques” was organized by IAMR. The eminent speaker was Dr. Hemant Juneja, HOD, Amar jyoti college of physiotherapy. He discussed about uses of tape to provide stability, relieve pressure and reduce muscle pain. Taping is currently being used by therapists to change muscle tone, move lymphatic fluids, correct movement patterns, and improve posture. Benefits of using the tape are that it is more economical over time than other modalities, it is easy to learn and apply, there are less types of tape, and it may be used over a longer period of time.
